Signature Materials is an activity of Materials Institute Services Ltd, a wholly owned subsidiary of IOM Communications Ltd. IOM Communications Ltd is a wholly owned trading subsidiary of The Institute of Materials, Minerals and Mining (IOM3), a registered professional engineering institution in the UK and a Registered Charity No 269275. The registered address for both IOM3 and IOM Communications Ltd is 297 Euston Road, London NW1 3AD. IOM3 is a Data Controller in respect of the personal information that we process in connection with our business and services and those of our subsidiaries. In this notice, references to “we” “us” or “our” are references to IOM3.

How do we collect information from you?

Some information will be collected automatically as you browse our website pages via cookies (see below). If you register marked materials with Signature Materials, we use online forms to collect personal and contact details. The website also provides a contact form which you may use to send us your enquiries. 

What personal data do we process?

We collect and process various categories of personal information depending on how you interact with us. We limit the collection of the information and processing to that necessary for us to achieve one or more legitimate purposes as identified in this notice.

The personal data we collect may include the following:

• Basic personal information, including name
• Contact information including home address, email address, phone number
• Employment information, including job title, work address
• Online profile and activity information including Internet Protocol (IP) address, location co-ordinates, website searches and visits.

We do not collect or store any financial data via our website. 

How is this information used and who do we share it with?

The information collected from you may be used to personalise your use of the website, collect information about how our website is used for statistical purposes, provide information in response to your submitted queries or provide survey data.

Information about your ownership of marked materials that you supply to us is shared with Recipero Ltd, a crime and fraud intelligence solutions provider. Recipero are a data processor for us in this capacity. Their privacy statement can be found here. Signature Materials has a legal obligation to provide this data to Recipero.

When you visit our website, we use Google Analytics to collect standard internet log information and details of behaviour patterns. The website records your IP address and is used only for statistical purposes and to monitor trends in website use.

We provide a contact form on the website to allow website visitors to make enquiries and request information. You will be asked for consent for us to send you information about other services not related to your original enquiry.

We use organisational, administrative, technical and physical security measures to safeguard your personal information and help ensure that it is processed promptly, accurately and completely.
